We run retreats for groups and individuals looking to develop a creative practice, learn a skill, or simply take time for themselves.

Our retreats are small and intimate, with between 8-12 participants.

Accommodation is in our comfortable double bedrooms upstairs in Casa Luna and its annex (The Rustico). If required for additional guests, or for those who prefer to be on the ground floor, we also use the two lovely downstairs rooms with double sofabeds and adjacent bathrooms.

Think focused and creative, but not boot camp: this is an opportunity to concentrate on your chosen project, but also to meet like-minded people and discover the local area. Food is seasonal and delicious, with local wines and vegetarian/vegan options on request.

We have a range of wonderful teaching partners – creative artists from many disciplines, including musicians, painters and writers for stage and screen, prose, poetry and spoken word, as well as wonderful yoga and pilates instructors and other movement professionals.

Please contact Kate – kate [at] katebeales [dot] com – for further information.

Workshop Spaces

Casa Luna has light, bright spaces ideal for workshops and classes. When the weather is good, we also use the outside terraces and balconies. Every bedroom has a writing desk and there are many nooks and crannies as well as communal areas for writing, arts activities or reflection.

Women With Extraordinary Ideas

A four-day creative retreat in Italy: 28th May to 1st June 2026

  • Do you dream up new ideas or projects and wish you had the time and confidence to bring them into the world?
  • Would you like to press the pause button on your work and family commitments in order to allow space for your creative ideas to flourish?
  • Would you like to co-create a community of mutually supportive women?

If you answered, Yes! then this retreat is for you. Women with Extraordinary Ideas is a tried and tested laboratory for exploring your creative ideas. It’s been developed especially for Casa Luna, a series of interconnected farmhouses in the scenic hills of northern Italy.

What makes this retreat different?

This is not a traditional retreat or business coaching programme. No pitches, no competition, no pressure to perform, no business plans.

You may arrive with a hunch, a question you keep circling, the seed of an idea, or an inspiration you haven’t yet shared.

At Casa Luna, you’ll be welcomed into a creative space, held lightly and with care, designed to give your ideas room to breathe and take shape. And you’ll be invited to join a supportive community focused on listening to women’s voices.

Your Host

Kate Beales is a writer, theatre director and creative companion who brings curiosity and quiet confidence to help put ideas and projects into motion. She will meet you where you are and offer a combination of encouragement, constructive challenge, thoughtful questions and creative prompts to help your extraordinary idea take flight.
